ZIGGY IS A GOOD GIRL!

Gosport Neighbourhood officers assisted Trading Standards this morning, checking three locations for illegal vapes, cigarettes and tobacco. At one of the shops Ziggy pointed us towards a number of ‘hides’ in the wall cavities where approx. £5,000 worth of cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco were found, good work Ziggy! Immigration checks were completed and reports have been submitted with one of the stores soon to be subject of a Closure Order, which a Court has to authorise.

Selling cheap vapes and cigarettes might be considered ok to some people but there is a direct link between these types of illicit shops to modern slavery and organised crime. This will not be tolerated in our Town.

In other news a prolific shoplifter was arrested this morning by Neighbourhood officers. He declined to give us access to his flat so we let ourselves in, he is also listed for a recall to prison so that’s him out of the way for a while.
